Nursery
There could not be a more idyllic setting for your child to begin their education. Set within acres of Surrey’s outstanding countryside, with hills to climb up, or to roll down and forests to explore, our Nursery pupils develop an appreciation of the world around them, while building a secure foundation for their future education. Duke of Kent School Nursery provides a unique and supportive environment. We have a small class with experienced, enthusiastic and consistent members of staff. We are able to use the wonderful school facilities and have weekly dance and music lessons in addition to two Forest School lessons. In class, our aim is to create a happy and nurturing environment where children are supported in their learning. Activities are based around the children’s interests and are primarily practical and play based. Children are at their happiest and learn at their highest level when engaging in activities which relate to their interests, whilst providing opportunities for new experiences and skills. We aim to inspire the children to feel excited about school and feel positive about learning. In this secure, caring and stimulating environment, every child feels happy, confident, secure, and valued as an individual.
Applicants for admission to Nursery are enrolled without formal testing and can join us from the term in which they turn 3. Children need to be fully toilet trained before starting Nursery.
Working in partnership with parents, Nursery staff provides the opportunities, support and challenges needed to ensure that each child is ready for the adventures waiting for them in Reception.
