Duke of Kent School

From the Headmaster PDF Print E-mail

Dear Parent,

Thank you for your interest in the School. I hope that you have found this website useful and worthwhile. It can only be an introduction, of course, and I do hope that you will now come and meet us and have a full tour. By meeting pupils and staff, I am confident that you will see what excellent opportunities we offer for your child to develop and shine.

Our aim as a school is to nurture the talents and energy of each pupil in as creative and vibrant way as possible. The quality we most like to see, from prospective and current pupils, is a spirit of enquiry. It is this spirit that produces a real appetite for learning and development.

Our programme requires a great deal of commitment from pupils and teachers. This commitment grows naturally in the unique atmosphere we have created at this school. This is a small, family school, but with a big outlook. All pupils here can flourish, because we can encourage success, without fear or failure.

If these qualities appeal to you, please do come and have a look for yourself. I shall be pleased to meet you and discuss your child's education with you.

Yours sincerely

Alan Cameron

Headmaster

Parents Association PDF Print E-mail

The Parents Association Duke of Kent School (PADOK), is a dynamic parents' association that organises a wide range of events and activities. The committee of the association is formed by parents with children in various years within the School, as well as the Headmaster and at least one other member of the school staff.

The association is mainly concerned to support School events, raise funds for the school and to help and support the Schools' nominated charities. There is an excellent relationship between the association, the staff and the Governing body and over the years this has meant that the parents have been able to help promote events and at the same time enhancing school life through the funds raised.

Recent examples of the way PADOK has enriched the School include organising a very happy and successful Summer Ball and donating a Grand Piano to the Music Department.
