Scholarships and Bursaries

Academic Scholarships

These are awarded for new pupils, on the basis of outstanding performance at entrance examination or, occasionally, to reward high achievement during the course of the academic year.

Alexander Creswell Art Scholarships

Christopher Warren-Green Music Scholarships

These are awarded on the basis of Art or Music excellence and promise. Interviews and auditions with appropriate staff and the Headmaster take place each Summer Term.

Sports Scholarships

These are awarded, where appropriate, on the basis of sporting excellence and promise. High level performance and successful interview with PE staff are the means of assessment. They are normally awarded in the Senior School only.

Bursaries

Bursary awards are made for financial need only and are based on means-tested assessments. Bursaries may only be awarded where the acceptance of a place or continued attendance of an established pupil is in jeopardy because of proven financial difficulties. Bursaries awards can range from 10 to 100% of the day fees. All Bursaries are subject to an annual review.

Bursaries will require full disclosure and verification, for example, of P60, bank and/or building society information and mortgage statements. All information is treated in strictest confidence by the Bursar and will be put before the School’s Finance Committee. Careful judgment is exercised in each case and the Committee’s decision is final.

Continuity of Education Allowance (CEA)

The School has a proud history of welcoming Forces children. We are very familiar with the terms and conditions surrounding the claiming of both Junior and Senior rates of CEA.
